Conspiracy theories (1)

The easy way to disarm a theory is to call it a conspiracy theory. Just by classifying it like this it becomes less true. It becomes an idea of paranoid minds. It is a proven technique to manipulate the "wistle blowers" into a position that nobody wants to be in: they become the defenders of phantoms, the victims of their own mind, the victims of paranoia. Those who want to be taken seriously will reject the theory from the moment the words "conspiracy theory" are mentioned.

Nevertheless there is a whole list of socalled "conspiracy theories" that have been proven to be true. One of the best known is the Watergate Scandal. Others are the use of Sarin gas in Tokio and the Manson murders (mostly known because of the murder on Sharon Tate, Roman Polanski's wife, and her friends).

Next to the Watergate Scandal, a few interesting proven theories related to state controlled manipulation are: the Mockingbird affair, the Lavon Affair, the Gulf of Tonkin incident, the Iran-Contra affair and the very interesting Operation Northwoods.

A quote from Wikipedia about this operation:

"This operation is especially notable in that it included plans for hijackings and bombings followed by the use of phony evidence that would blame the terrorist acts on foreign governments.
The plan states, "The desired resultant from the execution of this plan would be to place the United States in the apparent position of suffering defensible grievances from a rash and irresponsible government of Cuba and to develop an international image of a Cuban threat to peace in the Western Hemisphere."Operation Northwoods was drafted by the
Joint Chiefs of Staff and signed by then-Chairman Lyman Lemnitzer, and sent to the Secretary of Defense."

Yes, you are reading the right things:
  • Hijacking of Planes
  • Bombing of innocent citizens
  • Use of phony evidence

Desired result:

"WE ARE UNDER ATTACK"!

A plan from 1962 to convince (not only) the American Citizens about the evil intentions of Cuba. Just a way to get their support for "needed actions".

Sounds familiar to me.
